Objective:

The meeting was held as a part of briefing with the potential project partners for the establishment of the Third Party Facilitation Centers (TPFC). The objective was in general to share the project Pro-GOLE (Right to Do Business) concept, the activities to be undertaken & the methodology for implementation of such activities and in particular to coin the idea of TPFC, Methodology and possible advantages for businesses.

Proceedings and Decisions:

Meeting started with the recitation of few verses from Holy Quran, followed by Welcome Note of Mr. Khalid Mehmood Quershi, President, Pakistan Chamber of Small Traders (PCST)Multan. During his welcome note, he shared that PCST has membership of more than 25 traders and is working wholly on its own without any support from any institution.

Mr. Ammad Mirza, Provincial Coordinator, Punjab shared the objectives of the Project and shared the Third Party Facilitation Centers (TPFC).  Mirza elaborated that TPFCs are mechanisms of support established by SMEDA for facilitating access to legal services to the small businesses. The TPFC will be established at Bazar level in collaboration with bazaar trade association. Legal services providers will be are brought to the Center for legal advice as well as awareness of small businesses in particular members of the partner association.

Different participants placed multiple quires regarding functioning and benefits of TPFC for the marginalized businesses.  Mr. Qureshi after the discussion was quite convinced with the project objectives and functionality of TPFC for the businesses. He gave his consent of working with the project and shared that he will look what they can do for the hosting of TPFC at their office. He was very optimistic about the sharing of the PCST office at HussainAghai Bazzar, Multan for TPFC with project.

It was decided that in couple of days,we will arrange an Introductory Session with the businesses and Lawyers Community to finalization the establishment of the TPFC.
