 What’s New: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Investment Guide 2008-09 

SMEDA (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) has developed “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Investment Guide” with the purpose of attracting investment by identifying different potential sectors with possible investment opportunities including small & medium projects in these sectors. Main thrust behind the initiative is to highlight the potential investment opportunities with the objective of mobilizing private investment.

The document includes introduction of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, information on different industrial estates in the province and important features of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Industrial Policy 2005 have also been highlighted. Major economic sectors include Minerals, Hydel, Horticulture, Tourism, Furniture and Fisheries containing details of viable investment projects in these economic Sectors. The document contains relevant SROs providing incentives to machinery importers on zero rate and other relevant sector specific policies have also been included in this guide. more…

SMEDA has developed District Profiles of ten districts including Kohat, Charsadda, Swabi, Karak, Mardan, D.I Khan, Chitral, Bannu, Abbottabad and Mansehra. The purpose of these documents is to highlight the potential of each district. The documents include history, demographics, existing industries and clusters etc. These documents also contain the economic potential and investment opportunities in these areas. Keeping in view the strengths of the areas small viable investment projects are also included for interested SMEs.
