SMEDA organizes training programs, seminars, workshops and conferences of short duration in major cities across the country for raising awareness and capacity building of SMEs. These need based training programs are affordable, appropriate and innovative. These programs are aimed at improving knowledge, skills and competencies in the technical, marketing, financial, compliance, policy, regulatory, legal, commercial and other important functions. These programs help to improve major performance indicators such as productivity, quality, competitiveness and sustainability etc. The results include improvement in export potential, investment promotion, business transparency, human resource development, managerial capacity building etc. These programs help decreasing the level of SME mortality and increasing efficiency.

In Focus: Training Needs Assessment (TNA) for SMEs


SMEDA conducts Training Need Assessment (TNA) every year by applying tools such as questionnaires and focus group meetings etc. in order to identify the existing training needs of industry and businesses, particularly SMEs. The programs identified are incorporated in SMEDA Training Plan aimed for building capacity of SMEs. If you belong to an SME or SME Representative Organization, we will appreciate if you can fill in the TNA Questionnaire and forwarded through email to: trng@smeda.org.pk or send through mail to the address given on the questionnaire.

To facilitate SMEs in building their capacities, information details of individual trainers along with their areas of expertise have been uploaded. SMEs may directly contact these trainers to fulfill their training needs and negotiate the terms and conditions as may be feasible mutually. Although SMEDA has already hired the services of these trainers for conducting the training programs, workshops, conferences and seminars, but it does not take the responsibility of their services. This is for inviting expression of interest for an individual trainers as well as training service provider organizations. SMEDA Training Services is in the process of initiating co-branded training programs with renowned trainers and training institutes for the benefit of industry in general and SMEs in particular. We invite you to propose SME specific training programs for identified target groups of SME clusters and trade bodies in any region of the country. While SMEDA will facilitate your training programs as per policy guidelines, you may also indicate facilities required and terms of cooperation for holding such trainings. more…
