SME Trade & TECHNOLOGY FAIR 2008, Mauritius

To facilitate Mauritian SMEs embarking on new projects and products with the choice of right technologies, to start new businesses/ventures or buy new technologies through partnerships with foreign companies, especially those dealing in machinery, plant and equipment coupled with training and source of supply, Government of Mauritius has been arranging SME Trade & Technology Fair. Foreign companies are invited from various countries of the world to showcase their products/services and technologies along with the local companies and to be part of this expanding business network in Mauritius .

Pakistan has been invited for the first time to participate in SME Trade & Technology Fair 2008. As a gesture of goodwill and to welcome Pakistani SMEs, complementary services like accommodation, local transportation etc has been offered to potential exhibitors.

It would be an excellent opportunity for local SMEs to enter Mauritian market through exhibiting at the fair and developing initial business contacts.

VISA FACILITATION
SEHDA, Mauritius will issue recommendation letters.

SALES REGULATION
Participants will be allowed to sell their machinery / products at end of the Fair. No custom duty will be applicable. However, a value added tax of 15% is payable.

SELECTION OF COMPANIES
A participation request form is attached. Interested companies shall fill-in the form and submit to SMEDA along with their company profiles , not later then July 31st 2008. SMEDA will forward applications to Mauritius Authorities for final approval.

TRANSPORTATION OF MACHINERY
Exhibitors can transport small machinery prototypes/items at their own, whereas pictorial demonstration can be made for heavy machinery.
